The Bias Inside Us

Bias influences the way we all exist in the world. Whether innate or learned, bias causes us to think differently about ourselves and the people around us—leading to actions that are often based on stereotypes and prejudice.

This traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution invites you to recognize and reckon with your own biases. The project is grounded in research and teaches us that bias is inside everyone.

Experience it in person and online to find connections between implicit bias and explicit acts of bias, encourage conversations to increase empathy, and understand and counter your own biases.
