Science is All of Us Group Experiences
Scientifically, no one gene, or any set of genes, can support the idea of race. So why is it such a big part of our lives, and why is it so hard to talk about? Take a cultural and scientific look at race throughout history with paid and free virtual, hybrid, and in-person learning opportunities from the Science Museum of Minnesota. Programming is available for groups of adults as well as groups of young people ages 12–25.
Onsite Programs
A three-hour, in-person and facilitated group experience includes:
Welcome by Science Museum staff member and high-level overview of the Race Are We So Different? exhibition.
60- to 90-minute self-guided tour of the RACE and We Move and We Stay exhibitions
Private showing of The Idea short film.
A 90-minute group reflective dialogue led by a Science Museum facilitator at the museum or an offsite location of your choice.
Extend your experience with additional services, including food and beverages, exhibit buy-out or room rental, Omnitheater shows or live performances, or rental outside of normal museum hours.
Pricing
Science is All of Us packages are priced $120 per person, with a minimum cost of $1200 per booking. Maximum group size is 50 people. Groups over 50 can be scheduled with special accommodations. Please contact rental@smm.org with any questions or to set up a visit.

Explore the RACE: Are We So Different? exhibition with Twin Cities community leaders in a series of community reflection videos.
Watch The Idea, a 10-minute movie produced by the Science Museum’s Science Live Theatre, that depicts colleagues finding themselves in an unexpected conversation about race. Viewers can examine how the discussion about race could have gone differently and consider their own experiences when discussing the idea of race.
Explore an experience with the criminal justice system through Busted!, an illustrated, interactive narrative highlighting the disparities that disproportionately damage the futures of Minnesota youth of color.

IDEAL Center Professional Development
Our IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, Leadership) Center offers professional development opportunities for individuals who are interested in seeing their world differently and have the abilities, strategies, and will to make it more just and open. Our scientific mindset and research-based teaching and facilitation practices help participants become agents of change: transforming people, relationships, organizations, and our world. The IDEAL Center has custom-designed workshops focused on empowering interpersonal action in organizations.
